History
ZPA Corporation was founded in 1952, being transformed from Krizik company (Siemens until 1945) as a holding company that provided industrial automation products and services for all industry sectors in former Czechoslovakia and abroad. The corporation had several tens of thousands of employees working in many of the group’s companies, manufacturing measurement and control equipment, switchboxes, servomotors, sensors and other equipment. ZPA-DP was providing design, basic engineering, assembly, commissioning and other industrial automation services. It had always followed the trends in automation, including the first digital control system set into operation in 1968, or development of it’s own digital control system in 1970.
During construction of the nuclear power plant Dukovany, the corporation had fused with EZ company, which provided turn-key deliveries for electrical systems (LV to HV, including distribution networks up to 400kV), to form another state-owned giant company called Elektromont.
ZPA-DP a.s. was founded in 1990 as private stock company by a group of former Elektromont employees, they choose the name to reconnect to the tradition of the country’s premium automation company. In 2002 ZPA-DP has transformed into ZPA Industry a.s. as a company with stronger focus on selected market segments. Headquarted in Czech Republic, the company has branch offices and representatives in Europe, North America and Middle East.
