The main purpose of the multiple conveyor scale is permanent monitoring of the transported quantity at several conveyors simultaneously and processing of the result in the common evaluation unit. The construction of each scale enables its building into conveyors of various types and width of the belt. The multiple conveyor scale is used especially in various material sorting machines and in places where the check of quantity in several not very remote conveyors is needed. Here it is possible to reduce the investment costs significantly in comparison with the purchase of stand-alone scales.
Description
Each conveyor is equipped with a single-line roller construction, located on the scale frame with the tensometric sensor. The dimensions are adapted to the given operating conditions. The scale frame bears also a sensor of the instant speed of the belt, so that it is possible to get an exact calculation of the transported quantity. For calibration and check there is a converter with four-digit display and the terminal block at every scale. The output signals from each scale are led into the common evaluation unit by one cable. The basic part of the evaluation unit is a compact microcomputer station of the MIDIAS system, which permanently evaluates the transported quantity (e.g. fraction 1, 2, 3) according to the entered program (more variants), performs recalculation to hourly and total quantities and handles other possible requirements of the users.
The front side of the evaluation unit contains a four-line display and a membrane keyboard for the operator. On the display it is possible to view the following (for each scale):
- Instant output (t/hour)
- Hourly output (t/hour)
- Total output (t) from the selected moment
- Belt speed (m/s)
- Time values.
In addition the display can show various error messages – failures; such conditions as overloading etc. can be also signalled acoustically. At a special request, the evaluation unit may be equipped with serial communication line to be connected to a portable computer. The simultaneously supplied special software equipment provides:
- Automatic identification of the conveyor scale (machine)
- Upload of the values of the instantaneous output and operating hours
- Tabular processing of the instantaneous output and operating hours
- Creation of the final balance report for the customer
- Print of tables and graphs of the above listed parameters for evaluation of daily outputs etc.
